Job Description

Are you a Data & AI Product Owner passionate about shaping the future of data-driven solutions? Do you thrive in a consulting environment, guiding clients on their data journey across multiple cloud platforms?

If so, we want you to join our team at Devoteam.

The Role

As a Data & AI Product Owner, you’ll be a key member of our Data Strategy team. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their business challenges and translate them into a compelling vision and capabilities roadmap for data and AI products. You’ll be the linchpin connecting business needs with technical solutions, ensuring that our data initiatives deliver real, tangible value.

The Product Owner, as a key member of the Data Strategy team, will typically collaborate closely with and receive direction from the Data Strategist. While the Data Strategist focuses on establishing high-level strategic objectives and overall priorities for data and AI initiatives, the Product Owner will translate these broad goals into concrete, actionable plans.

This involves defining specific capabilities needed to achieve the strategic vision, breaking down these capabilities into detailed user stories, and for example clearly outlining the “definition of done” for each. On a day-to-day basis, the Product Owner will then work directly with the development team, tracking the sprint cycle and increments, ensuring that the development aligns precisely with the defined capabilities and user stories, and ultimately delivering tangible value in support of the Data Strategist’s overarching vision.

Qualifications

What You’ll Do

Define and own the product vision and capabilities roadmap for our customer’s data and AI solutions.

Align data product strategy with overall business objectives, ensuring data assets deliver actionable insights and measurable value.

Act as the primary point of contact for diverse stakeholders (e.g., marketing, supply chain, finance, and operations teams), in order to gather requirements, define user stories and acceptance criteria.

Prioritize data product development and enhancements based on stakeholder needs, impact, and feasibility.

Enforce compliance with data governance policies, ensuring data products meet security, privacy, and quality standards.

Embed ethical use of data and AI models by design, and in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, EU AI Act).

Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication between business stakeholders, data engineers, BI engineers, data stewards and data analysts.

Collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other technical experts throughout the product lifecycle, including reviewing estimations and technical analyses, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful data and AI products (data sets, dashboards, APIs, ML/AI/GenAI models, …).

Define and monitor KPIs to measure the success and quality of data products (e.g., reliability, accessibility, adoption, and business impact).

Capture qualitative user feedback to inform future iterations and improvements.

Ensure data products are well-documented, discoverable, and intuitive for end-users.

Monitor the execution of user acceptance testing if applicable.

Stay informed of emerging trends and technologies in the field of data, analytics and AI, continuously enhancing the value of data products.

Additional Information

Who You Are

You have 1-3 years of experience as a Product Owner, specifically within the data and/or AI domain.

You have proven experience working with agile and/or scrum methodologies.

You have proven experience in using JIRA or similar tools to manage, refine and track product backlogs.

You are familiar with the core services and concepts of at least one major cloud provider (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS).

Experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time data streaming technologies, data mesh architectures and data mesh organisations is a plus.

Experience with data governance frameworks or principles is a plus.

You possess excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.

You are an analytical thinker with the ability to see the big picture while also managing and caring about the details.

Your sole focus is on creating value, not merely executing tasks or implementing technology.

You are proactive, self‑motivated, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced consulting environment.

You are fluent in English, and are native Dutch or French speaker.

Are you ready to make a significant impact on our clients’ data and AI journeys?
