Automation Technician – DeltaV / DCS

A major international chemical manufacturing organisation is looking for an Automation Technician to support its production site in Jemeppe. The site produces high-volume chemicals (including PVC and chlor-alkali products) and operates with advanced automation systems.
This role sits within the Automation / DCS team and will support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the plant's control systems.
Your Role
* Maintain and troubleshoot the plant's DeltaV (Emerson) Distributed Control System (DCS / SNCC)
* Support continuous operation of highly automated chemical production units
* Diagnose and resolve faults across automation, instrumentation, and control systems
* Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and system checks
* Assist with system upgrades, modifications, and project work within the automation team
* Work closely with engineers and the Automation Unit Manager to improve system reliability and performance
Your Profile
* Experience as an Automation Technician, Controls Technician, or E&I Technician
* Hands-on experience with DeltaV / Emerson DCS (essential)
* Strong understanding of DCS, PLCs, and industrial process control systems
* Experience in troubleshooting within a live industrial / production environment
* Fluent French required (spoken and written)
* Technical qualification in automation, electrical, or instrumentation engineering
Nice to Have
* Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing industries
* Exposure to SNCC (Système Numérique de Contrôle-Commande) environments
* Experience supporting or working alongside DCS / PLC engineering teams
* Previous involvement in plant upgrades, migrations, or automation projects
