Overview
PM Group is an international project delivery company operating across Europe, the USA and Asia. We provide project management, process design, facility design, construction management, and commissioning and qualification services for our leading multinational clients.
At present, we are looking for a Shutdown Manager / Site Lead for the PM Group team delivering a Pharma project in Belgium. The Shutsdown Manager - Site Lead will lead and support an existing team comprising commercial, project controls, quality, safety, project management and construction management functions.
Responsibilities
1. First Priority is the Safety & Health of all persons working on or managing the site / shutdown works.
2. Ensure completion of the shutdown in accordance with all of the project goals but especially in areas of safety, quality, cost, schedule and Customer satisfaction.
3. Will be hands on in the field for at least 50% of the time and become familiar with all aspects of the shutdown
4. Coordinates the activities of all field supervision / area managers and contractors.
5. Leads the daily whiteboard meeting for the shutdowns, checks the area managers for the main works are leading their areas. Managing the beginning and close of the shifts.
6. Ensures daily site walks by area managers are undertaken, playing an active part in safety audits and inspections.
7. Helping area managers plan and assess the upcoming works and the measures for safe execution.
8. Drive the point of work safety assessments (SPA) and their implication in the field
9. Signs daily permits for areas along with area managers .
10. Monitor the construction, follow the execution and plan and ensure its successful completion.
11. Manages contractor progress and reporting with lead planner and Package Managers.
12. Liaises with Construction manager on all field changes and variations.
13. Lead the area managers and contractors in the TAKT planning sessions
14. Leads the shutdown meetings and liaison with the client and contractor teams
15. Works with the design team to ensure all details for the shutdown works are issued and understood.
16. Ensures all contractor plan works are in accordance with the specifications in conjunction with the package managers.
17. Working with the contractors to produce tie in packs, detailed plans to ensure the materials and necessary logistics, quality and resources are in place and the scope is clearly understood by all parties
18. Ensure a quality plans are in place and followed for the works in all areas.
19. Liaise with the client for the method of handing back all systems and releasing the shutdown and other field works for the project
20. Liaise with the turnover managers for field inspections and walkdowns.
21. Reports to PM Group Construction Manager or designate.
Qualifications
22. Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Shutdown Manager / Site Lead in a GMP regulated environment
23. A formal engineering or science qualification is required, preferably with a background in pharma, biopharma or process engineering
24. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, maintaining cordial relationships with our client's stakeholders while representing PM Group’s interests
25. Good knowledge of English, Dutch and French.
