In this role, reporting to the Group Procurement Director, you will work on a broad scope: Purpose of the Position Within your assigned procurement categories, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category management strategies Your problem-solving skills and ability to drive change across various entities within the Group will be essential for achieving results. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as a broad range of external suppliers Key Tasks Define and execute the category strategy in alignment with the overarching company strategy and effectively translate it into actionable purchasing plans Take an active role or provide leadership in purchasing projects within assigned categories, working closely with relevant departments or entities Within the context of procurement files, critically evaluate and challenge existing practices to drive improvements in customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability Identify and assess new sourcing opportunities within designated categories and assist divisional and local category teams along the procurement process Demonstrate and promote Greenyard’s core values (Passion, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Reliability, Creativity, and Collaboration), serving as a model for the team Contribute to specific procurement initiatives by leveraging project management expertise Nice to meet you You have a Masters’ degree in engineering or economics A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in a procurement role, preferably within an international environment or categories relevant to this function. Demonstrating curiosity and out-of-the-box thinking: shows willingness to learn and works on multiple topics concurrently; identifies ways to simplify processes and improve efficiency Delivering results and ensuring operational excellence: establishes and tracks quality standards; applies analytical and problem-solving skills Managing across boundaries: builds networks, supports collaboration, facilitates consensus among cross-functional teams, communicates clearly, and participates in influencing and negotiating Driving innovation and managing change: supports creativity and innovation; develops change management processes and manages projects You have strong communication & negotiation skills where balance is found between a commercial mindset and obtaining the financial objectives. You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Demonstrated interest in, or ability to quickly learn and adopt, new and emerging tools such as AI-powered solutions, business intelligence (BI) reporting platforms, and other digital technologies.
