Your Role
As a Scaffolding Calculator, you are responsible for handling tender requests and preparing quotations.
You analyze specifications and project documentation, translate these into clear spreadsheets, and ensure accurate cost calculations. You work closely with project managers, engineering, and sales, and maintain contact with various internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Handle tender requests and prepare/compute quotations.
* Analyze specifications and project data and translate them into clear spreadsheets.
* Work closely with project managers to obtain accurate figures and information.
* Perform technically sound analyses and convert complex data into clear calculations.
* Use Excel extensively for calculations and reporting.
* Negotiate prices and terms over time.
* Remain stress-resistant under deadlines and work with precision.
* Maintain contact with various stakeholders: from site managers to clients.
* In the initial phase: regularly visit construction sites for measurements and project insight.
* Actively contribute to the contractor role and grow into larger projects.
* A VCA certificate is a plus.
* You have strong analytical thinking and learning ability.
* You have completed or are willing to complete a Scaffolding Inspector training.
Technical Competencies
* Knowledge of scaffolding systems (not required, but an asset).
* Understanding of standards and regulations (safety requirements, European norms).
* Ability to read technical drawings and work with CAD software.
* Strong calculation skills: accurately calculate materials, labor hours, and costs.
* Problem-solving ability for technical challenges.
Organizational Competencies
* Project planning: estimating time, resources, and personnel.
* Cost control: preparing quotations, monitoring budgets, and identifying deviations.
* Logistics insight: planning transport, storage, and assembly of scaffolding.
* Quality control: ensuring calculations and execution meet requirements.

* Act as a bridge between the work floor and management.
* Customer focus: formulate clear quotations and advice.
* Reporting and documenting calculations and decisions.
* Negotiating with suppliers and clients.
