We are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer for a leading biotechnology company in Nottinghamshire or Luxembourg. This position is a full-time, permanent position, and the successful candidate will be reporting to the Director of Design Engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate customer requirements into clear, accurate, and manufacturable engineering drawings and technical documentationCreate and maintain 2D/3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorksAct as a key interface between customers, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure design requirements are understood and executedSupport Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities and drive improvements in drawing quality, standardisation, and engineering processesManage Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change requests, and documentation within PLM/ERP systemsParticipate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturingRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related discipline10+ years' experience in design engineering or drafting within a regulated manufacturing environmentAdvanced SolidWorks experience, including part modelling, assemblies, and technical drawing creationStrong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards (ASME/ISO)Experience working with BOMs, engineering change processes, and PLM/ERP systemsBackground in medical devices, bioprocessing, or other highly regulated industries preferredStrong communication skills with experience collaborating across customer-facing and cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
