DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS
• Definition of the overall architectural vision and roadmap for the TAXUD DataLab, covering data ingestion, processing, analytics, and platform components, ensuring alignment with DG TAXUD’s digital strategy.
• Preparation of architectural design documents, technical blueprints, data models, and integration patterns to support the development and scalability of the DataLab infrastructure.
• Management of the architectural consistency and interoperability between various data sources, analytics components, and supporting IT systems within TAXUD.
• Development and maintenance of reference architecture models, architectural guidelines, and
governance frameworks to support efficient data operations and platform evolution.
• Coordination and review of solution designs proposed by project teams and subcontractors,
ensuring compliance with architectural standards, data governance principles, and security
requirements.
• Reporting of architecture-related progress, risks, and recommendations to TAXUD management and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency in solution implementation and strategicalignment.•
Assistance with the identification and evaluation of technology choices, architectural trade-offs, and best practices for enhancing data ingestion pipelines, advanced analytics capabilities, and platform performance.
• Interaction with business analysts, users, project leaders, and developers to ensure alignment
between business needs and technical architecture, and to guide throughout the project lifecycle.

• Very good knowledge of enterprise data architecture, analytics platforms, data integration frameworks, and data governance models, with demonstrated experience in designing and implementing complex solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Ability to design, assess, and optimise architectural solutions efficiently and rapidly, drawing on deep technical understanding and strategic thinking developed across multiple high-impact domains (public sector, media, banking, insurance).
• Ability to give business and technical presentations, translating complex architecture concepts into clear and actionable communication for senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and executive- level audiences.
• Ability to apply high quality standards in architecture design, documentation, data governance, and platform scalability, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR.
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in data processing platforms, advanced analytics environments, and digital transformation programmes, with practical experience in adapting architectures to evolving needs.
• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring seamless collaboration between business users, analysts, developers, and project leadership.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, applied to large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects, enabling early identification of technical challenges and proactive resolution.
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents, including architecture blueprints, data models, integration patterns, and technical guidelines supporting enterprise-wide implementation.
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and provide expert-level input, fostering shared
understanding and alignment across multidisciplinary project teams.
