Position
We are looking for a Thermomechanical Systems Engineer to be involved in the full development cycle of systems and system prototypes, in particular mechanical and thermal, from conceptual and architecture design to hands-on testing.
Contributions to the thermomechanical aspects of groundbreaking space missions and technologies will be vital. And more specifically, play a major role in developing thermomechanical designs for advancing technologies that transform resources on the Moon into functional materials, supply power to various exploration missions, among multiple other applications (e.g. Lunar rovers, payloads).
The position is in the Systems Department, as part of the Future Projects and Exploration Team.
The candidate will mainly report to Future Projects and Exploration Team Lead.

Tasks and Responsibilities
* Design, develop and validate mechanical systems for both high and moderate temperature conditions with the coordination of the Line Managers
* Engage in comprehensive mechanical and thermal analyses to substantiate design choices
* Produce 3D models, component schematics, and assembly blueprints
* Conduct hands-on assembly, verification, and testing of hardware prototypes
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams for system integration
* Oversee procurement activities with external suppliers and partners
* Prepare technical responses to Invitations to Tender
* Lead technical product deliveries in relation with the assigned projects
* Interact with customers
* Perform planning of related activities
* Provide technical support to the preparation of proposals.
Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
* Preferably 3 years of relevant experience in thermomechanical systems
* Relevant and demonstrable experience in:
o High temperature applications and materials (this e.g. may include, but is not limited to industrial furnaces, thermal protection systems, sensors and instrumentation, high temperature material development or testing, spacecraft heat shields, propulsion systems, or others).
o Design of thermal architectures
o Fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly
* Proficient in:
o Thermal and Mechanical analysis (e.g. Sinda, COMSOL, ESATAN, Marc, Nastran or others)
o 3D CAD Software (e.g. Solidworks)
* Understanding of material science principles
* Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines
* Passion for the mission and willingness to grow and thrive with the company
* Very good written and spoken English.
Considered as Assets
* Experience in flight hardware, lunar projects, environmental testing
* Non-linear analysis and thermal networks
* Familiarity with ECSS/NASA standards, ISRU or cross-disciplinary engineering skills.
