About the Role
We are seeking a Program Designer/Developer to join our client's team in Brussels on a freelance basis for a 12-month mission, with the possibility of extension up to three years. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape, automate, and future-proof critical business applications in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment. As a Program Designer/Developer, you will be instrumental in analyzing, designing, and building application software that underpins key business decisions. What You'll Be Doing
* Analyze business needs and translate them into clear, actionable functional requirements in close collaboration with Risk and PnL teams.
* Design and document technical specifications and architecture, detailing implementation choices, interfaces, data flows, and technical constraints.
* Develop, assemble, and maintain software modules and components, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and performance.
* Drive the digitalization and automation of business processes, leveraging advanced Python (V3), AI, and machine learning techniques.
* Implement and maintain robust test automation (unit, integration, regression) integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
* Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance, proactively addressing bugs, enhancements, and adapting to changing business needs.
* Document all developments and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
* Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
* Expert-level Python V3 (10+ years)
* Advanced experience in digitalization and automation of business processes (5-8 years)
* AI & Machine Learning (3-5 years)
* AWS (3-5 years)
* Deep understanding of complex information systems, business processes, and software development (5-8 years)
* Market risk indicators and market data (3-5 years)
* Knowledge of financial products (Futures, Options, Forwards, Swaps, etc.) and trade lifecycle (3-5 years)
* Continuous integration and ALM (10+ years)
* SQL (5-8 years)
What We're Looking For

* Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on relationship quality and effective teamwork.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.

Language Proficiency
* Professional proficiency in English is required.
* Additional language skills (French or Dutch) are a plus but not mandatory.
Other Requirements
* This is a freelance position based in Brussels, Belgium, with a 12-month initial contract and potential for extension (up to three years).
* Full-time engagement required.
* On-site presence in Belgium is expected.
