As a Data Solution Architect, you'll participate in an ambitious, company-wide digital program to modernize our digital infrastructure. Your goal? Ensure clear information that leads to cleaner water and a living environment in harmony with water.
Your role
Are you the architect who creates order in the enormous data flow and transforms it into strategic value? As a Senior Data Solution Architect, you'll be a driving force behind our transition to a data-driven enterprise. You'll not only build a robust data foundation but also design the infrastructure for our next-generation AI applications and Large Language Models (LLMs).
What are you going to do?
Enterprise Data Governance : You design and support an overarching governance framework that focuses on data quality, lineage, and compliance.
Data Product Delivery: You transform raw data into scalable data products. You're responsible for the complete design, from discovery to presentation.
AI & LLM Implementation: You will prepare our data landscape for advanced AI. This includes the selection, integration, and fine-tuning of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their associated vector databases.
Unstructured Data & Classification: You implement solutions for the automatic classification and processing of unstructured data (such as documents and emails) to make it useful for analytics and AI.
Strategic Advice: You are the contact person for both IT teams and the business, translating complex business needs into future-proof technical architectures.
Required competencies
Expertise: You have 5 years of demonstrable experience designing Enterprise Data Platforms, including at least 3 years specifically for the Azure cloud platform. You are familiar with modern cloud-native solutions and possess the knowledge and experience to modernize existing data pipelines and workloads with technologies such as Databricks Lakeflow, dbt, or Microsoft Fabric. You understand the architectural impact of such migrations and guide teams in selecting, designing, and implementing these new components within the broader Enterprise Data Platform. You will actively contribute to developing guidelines, best practices, and reference architectures, and monitor their adherence within teams and projects.
AI-Native: You understand the architectural requirements for AI, such as RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and data preprocessing for model training.
Governance Mindset: Experience with data cataloging and classification tools (such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, dScribe, or Informatica) is a must.
Communicator: You can present complex concepts convincingly to stakeholders at various levels. You collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments. You operate within the agile SAFe planning framework and proactively and communicatively address changing and/or overlapping priorities.
Experience with our stack is definitely a plus... Integrate Azure Cloud Data Platform (Azure Data Factory and Databricks) with SAP S/4HANA (Data Sphere), SAP SuccessFactors, IBM AS400 and IBM Maximo and SaaS platforms such as Power BI and SharePoint.
Security by Design: is key as we as an organization are NIS2 compliant, which means both the data architecture and the development process
Fully complies with the required security guidelines. Experience with test automation and strengthening our quality assurance is a significant added value.
