As part of our Corporate Finance Services (CFS) team based in Brussels HQ, you'll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and transparency across several EMEA entities within Abbott Medical Devices. We're looking for an Accountant - Entity Controller who enjoys ownership, cross-border collaboration, and working at the intersection of accounting excellence and business partnership. Your role In this position, you will act as Entity Controller for several EMEA legal entities, with end-to-end responsibility for accounting, statutory reporting, and audits. You'll work closely with our Shared Service Organization (SSO), external accounting firms, and internal finance stakeholders. Your key responsibilities include: Drive and oversee the month-end close for multiple EMEA entities (including HQ and operational entities) Own and maintain US GAAP and Local GAAP books Review and reconcile inventory and capital equipment Manage and review complex journal entries (e.g. acquisitions, tax and restructuring adjustments) Support the implementation of new US GAAP standards (e.g. leases, revenue recognition) Act as Entity Controller for dormant entities and lead action plans toward liquidation Ensure statutory compliance, including timely filing of financial statements in line with Abbott deadlines Review balance sheet reconciliations and perform periodic financial reviews Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring smooth execution and no audit remarks Serve as a key liaison between Accounting and Business Finance, providing clear insights and guidance What you bring A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics Solid experience in financial accounting, reporting, or controlling, ideally in an international environment Strong knowledge of US GAAP; Local GAAP exposure is a plus Experience working with shared service centers and external accounting providers Comfortable handling complex accounting topics and multiple legal entities Structured, detail-oriented, and confident in taking ownership Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cultures Fluent in English (French and/or Dutch are an advantage) What we offer A high-impact role within a global, purpose-driven healthcare company Exposure to international entities and complex accounting topics Strong collaboration with senior finance stakeholders across EMEA Hybrid working model and a modern office in Machelen Competitive compensation and benefits package Continuous learning and career development opportunities About Abbott Abbott is a global healthcare leader, helping people live more fully at all stages of life.
