You will support and evolve a mission-critical biometric identification platform operating in a certified and highly regulated environment. The role combines system administration, technical support, integration work, and hands-on development in support of both an existing biometric system and the rollout of a next-generation platform. Reliability, security, and operational continuity are central to this position.
What you'll do
* Provide first- and second-line technical support for a centralized biometric identification system and distributed capture stations.
* Diagnose, resolve, and document incidents related to biometric applications, servers, databases, and capture equipment, escalating complex issues when required.
* Monitor system health and performance, including virtualized environments, storage capacity, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
* Maintain and test backup, archiving, and restore procedures to guarantee data availability and system resilience.
* Prepare, configure, and maintain Linux-based virtual environments used for internal tools, testing, and development.
* Contribute to the integration, migration, and evolution of biometric databases and supporting systems.
* Train users on biometric equipment, internal tools, and operational procedures.
* Apply security policies rigorously, protect sensitive data, and actively promote cybersecurity best practices among users.
* Contribute technical analyses, propose improvements, and participate in projects related to current and future biometric platforms.
What are we looking for?
* You have a bachelor's degree in an ICT-related field or equivalent hands-on experience in system administration and integration roles.
* You have solid experience working with
Windows and Linux systems
, including user management, permissions, scheduled tasks, software installation, and log analysis.
* You are comfortable operating in
virtualized environments
, managing virtual machines, environments, and backups.
* You have hands-on experience with
databases
, including installing, configuring, querying, and migrating
MySQL and Oracle
databases using intermediate SQL.
* You have working knowledge of
network fundamentals
, including
IP addressing, DNS, DHCP,
and basic troubleshooting.
* You are experienced with
Office 365
, including SharePoint and OneDrive, in an operational and support context.
* You can develop and maintain internal tools using
PHP, HTML, and JavaScript
, and you understand object-oriented principles.
* You use
Bash scripting
confidently for Linux automation and have basic experience with
Python
for simple scripting tasks.
* You have an active knowledge of
English
, with passive knowledge of
Dutch and French
.
