Automation Engineer – As an Automation Engineer, you are the go-to expert for industrial automation across our packaging operations. You contribute to the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our production lines by leveraging your expertise in PLC, SCADA, and control systems. Working within a strong international technical network, you support multiple sites and collaborate with local teams, global experts, and external suppliers. You combine hands-on problem solving with a strategic mindset, helping shape the future of automation in our operations.

What You’ll Do
* Drive performance & reliability
* Improve efficiency, uptime, and reliability of packaging lines
* Support troubleshooting of complex automation and controls issues
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
* Own automation expertise (PLC / SCADA / Controls)
* Provide technical leadership in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial networks
* Support system optimization, upgrades, and lifecycle management
* Contribute to the automation strategy and roadmap for the region
* Lead continuous improvement
* Develop and implement reliability and maintenance strategies
* Optimize preventive maintenance, overhaul plans, and line performance
* Drive standardization and best practices across sites
* Support projects & innovation
* Contribute to Capex planning and automation-related investments
* Support commissioning, upgrades, and new equipment implementation
* Evaluate new technologies and automation solutions
* Collaborate & share knowledge
* Work closely with plant teams, technical experts, and suppliers
* Train and coach local teams to increase technical capabilities
* Share best practices and lessons learned across sites
* Manage suppliers & OEMs
* Act as a technical interface with equipment suppliers
* Drive performance reviews and explore improvements or alternatives
* Support spare parts strategy and obsolescence management
Who You Are
* Degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical or similar)
* 3–5+ years’ experience in industrial automation, packaging, or maintenance
* Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial networks
* Experience with OT systems (e.g. MES, reporting, virtualization)
* Analytical, structured, and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
* Able to influence and work across teams
* Fluent in English and willing to travel internationally (Europe)
