HR & People Operations Specialist

(Focus: HR administration, recruitment, payroll & culture)

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and organized HR & People Operations Specialist to strengthen our HR team and support our growing organization.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of HR administration, recruitment, and support the payroll team, while also contributing to people initiatives and company culture. You’ll ensure smooth HR operations, provide excellent employee support, and help Rombit continue to attract and retain great talent.

You’ll work closely with and report to the Techyard HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

* Manage the full recruitment cycle: job postings, sourcing, screening, scheduling, and onboarding.
* Partner with hiring managers to understand needs and deliver a great candidate experience.
* Coordinate onboarding processes and ensure new joiners feel welcome and supported.

HR Administration & Compliance

* Handle the administrative aspects of the employee lifecycle — contracts, amendments, leave, benefits, and offboarding.
* Maintain accurate and compliant employee records.
* Ensure compliance with Belgian labor law and company policies.

Payroll & Benefits

* Support our payroll team in the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll in close collaboration with our external payroll partner.
* Manage time registration, absences, benefits, and social declarations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all payroll-related data.

As part of our HR team, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to handle payroll processes end-to-end. Depending on your interest and experience, you may take full ownership of the payroll process or play a more supporting and backup role alongside our current payroll specialist.

Fleet Management

* Administer and manage the company’s vehicle fleet, including contracts, insurance, and maintenance follow-up.
* Act as main contact for employees and leasing partners.

People & Culture Initiatives

* Support engagement, wellbeing, and internal communication initiatives.
* Help organize team events and foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
* Contribute to employer branding and HR projects that strengthen Rombit’s people experience.

Your Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Office Management, or a related field.
* min. 3–5 years of experience in HR administration or a similar operational HR role.
* Strong knowledge of Belgian labor law, payroll processes, and HR best practices.
* Experience with recruitment and onboarding.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Hands-on, service-oriented, and discreet.
* Fluent in Dutch and English.
