Confirmed Application Tester (Functional QA)
Context
For a long-term assignment within a large public-sector digital transformation program, we are looking for a Confirmed Functional Application Tester.
The assignment focuses on improving and supporting the quality assurance of a critical operational system in the domain of process planning and control management.
The consultant will work in a hybrid setup (minimum 50% on-site) within a structured Agile environment and collaborate closely with business, development, and functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, write, and maintain functional and non-functional test cases
* Prepare test scenarios, including test data and environment setup
* Execute manual tests (functional, regression, exploratory)
* Log, classify, and track defects through resolution
* Collaborate with development and business teams to support issue resolution
* Validate fixes and perform retesting with stakeholders
* Produce clear test reports and formal test sign-offs (PV/rapportage)
* Contribute to coordination of testing activities in an Agile team
Required Technical Skills
* Strong experience in manual functional testing
* Ability to define test cases from functional and non-functional requirements
* Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
* Hands-on experience with:
o Mantis (defect tracking)
o Xqual (test management)
o Agilitest (basic test automation knowledge required)
* Understanding of:
o CI/CD basics using GitLab
o Containerized environments (Docker – basic understanding)
o SQL and database querying fundamentals
* Experience in test analysis, execution, and defect lifecycle management
Soft Skills
* Proactive mindset and ability to anticipate issues
* High attention to detail and structured working approach
* Strong communication skills (defects, reporting, stakeholder interaction)
* Team player in Agile environments
* Curiosity and interest in understanding the business domain
Profile Level
* Confirmed / Medior Functional Tester
* Recent hands-on experience required (preferably current year)
Language
* French: Native or professional working proficiency
Engagement Model
* Freelance or internal consultant via IT proposal (detached assignment)
* Hybrid working model (minimum 50% on-site presence required)
