About the Role
This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. As a Marine Coordinator, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist crew and staff with maritime QHSE-related matters;
* Serve as liaison with vessel management;
* Support DPA/CSO in ISM and ISPS related matters;
* Conduct audits and inspections on board (short missions abroad);
* Implement safety management systems on board the fleet;
* Ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations;
* Analyze data from Port State Control, internal and external audits, dangerous situations, near misses and accidents;
* Develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to improve the safety management system;
* Communicate QHSE aspects of vessels to projects;
* Collaborate with marine operations department to improve QHSE-S aspects concerning the entire DEME fleet;
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (preferably nautical degree) or equivalent through experience;
* Several years of experience in a similar role;
* Fluent English language skills, with knowledge of Dutch and French preferred;
* Strong problem-solving skills, proactive attitude, and flexibility;
* QHSE-S driven and a team player;
* Will to travel abroad for short periods;
