Freelance Senior Accountant – Waregem
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our finance operations on a freelance basis in Waregem.
About the Role
As a Freelance Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing accounting activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial reporting processes. You will work closely with management and external partners to maintain accurate financial records and help drive financial efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day accounting operations
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Handle VAT declarations and tax-related filings
* Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities
* Ensure compliance with Belgian accounting standards and regulations
* Coordinate with auditors and external accountants
* Monitor cash flow and financial performance
* Identify opportunities for process improvements
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar finance role
* Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting and VAT regulations
* Experience with ERP/accounting software
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and proactively
* Strong communication skills in Dutch and English (French is a plus)
* Freelance/self-employed status required
