TVH is looking for a motivated Commercial Legal Counsel to join the legal team.
Your Role And Responsibilities
* Advising the business teams on various legal matters, and drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts. These include various types of sales and purchase agreements (framework, distribution, partnership, spare parts purchase, private label, data sharing, etc.), as well as various types of indirect spend agreements (purchase, service, consultancy, agency, etc.).
* Managing and mitigating legal risks across various business operations.
* Ensuring proper prosecution of our trademark portfolio worldwide, together with our external advisors.
* Consistently reflecting on how the work of the legal team can be organized more efficiently, among others by establishing templates or policies, effecting changes in legal or cross‑departmental processes or using (tech) tools.
* Ensuring that the legal function, which today operates out of the company’s headquarters in Belgium, supports the business globally.
* Liaising with external lawyers and other service providers, looking for providers that can deliver excellent value for money.
* Keeping up-to-date with relevant legal evolutions and developments, applying such up-to-date knowledge on a day‑to‑day basis and sharing any relevant knowledge within the legal team or providing training more broadly throughout the organization.
How To Succeed / Your Profile
* Belgian Master’s degree in Law.
* At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in contract and commercial law, excellent drafting skills and ability to summarise and communicate complex legal issues in a concise manner. Experience with IP law is a plus.
* Real team player, honest, hands‑on, convincing.
* Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, demonstrated legal skills (combined with an ability to take a strategic view on the challenges and issues facing the business), and eager to work in a dynamic environment. Business‑minded.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Fluent in Dutch and English. Good knowledge of French.
