Project OverviewA growing food & beverage manufacturer is launching multiple mechanical upgrade and expansion projects across its production facilities. To support detailed design and project execution, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Mechanical Engineer with strong SolidWorks expertise.You will be involved in the design, modification and optimisation of production equipment within a hygienic processing environment.
ResponsibilitiesMechanical design and detailing in SolidWorksDevelopment and modification of production line equipment (conveyors, filling systems, mixers, packaging equipment, etc.)Creation of 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawingsSupport equipment installation and on-site modificationsCollaborate with automation and electrical engineersEnsure designs comply with hygiene and food safety standardsParticipate in FAT / site implementation where required
Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in food & beverage or FMCG manufacturingStrong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling + technical drawings mandatory)Experience designing production or process equipmentUnderstanding of hygienic design principles (EHEDG, stainless steel fabrication, cleanability)Knowledge of machinery directive and CE complianceAbility to work independently in a project-based environment
Nice to have:Experience with layout design and plant modificationsKnowledge of stainless steel structures and fabrication processesPrevious experience supporting installation or commissioning
ProfileFreelance / self-employed statusHands-on and solution-orientedComfortable working in operational production environmentsStrong communication skills (Dutch and/or English required)Available to travel to site when necessary
