Position: Export Ocean Freight Forwarder
We are looking for an Export Ocean Freight Forwarder to ensure the efficient and timely transportation of goods from origin to international destinations. This role involves negotiating rates, planning and tracking shipments, preparing customs documentation, coordinating with warehouses and third‑party agents, and maintaining proactive communication with clients.
The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, solution‑focused, and experienced in international freight forwarding, with a strong commitment to customer service and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary contact for customers, managing daily service needs and expectations.
* Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate delays or issues.
* Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Provide spot quotations and elevate service matters to Key Account Managers (KAMs) as needed.
* Handle customer complaints and service inquiries, coordinating with carriers and overseas agents to resolve them.
* Use CargoWise for order and shipment management, and identify service improvement opportunities.
* Coordinate with 3PL agents and warehouse personnel regarding shipping, loading, and storage.
* Prepare and process export declarations (e.g., AES Filing) and customs clearance documentation.
* Negotiate transport and logistics rates, and plan and track shipments.
* Maintain accurate records of costs, transactions, and documentation.
* Ensure compliance with international and local trade regulations.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering high‑level service.
Hard Skills
* Proficiency in TMS software (preferably CargoWise)
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding, customs clearance, and international logistics
* Knowledge of local compliance and reporting
