We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to support our client in further developing and modernizing their cloud platform within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. In this role, you combine strategic architecture with hands‑on implementation, working closely with infrastructure, engineering, development, and security teams.

You will help evolve the existing cloud foundation by defining standards, guiding teams, and implementing scalable, secure solutions.
Responsibilities
Design and manage the Azure cloud architecture, including governance, landing zones, security, and compliance
Define cloud standards, reference architectures, and architecture principles
Advise stakeholders on cloud strategy and modernization initiatives
Evaluate and integrate new Azure services aligned with the cloud roadmap
Collaborate with engineering and development teams to translate architecture into practical solutions
Perform architecture reviews, risk analyses, and technical validations
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert guidance
Document architectural decisions, designs, and technical diagrams
Hands‑on activities
Designing and optimizing Azure environments (IaaS, PaaS, serverless)
Implementing services such as Function Apps, Logic Apps, Automation, and Storage
Building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Developing container platforms with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Implementing governance with Policies, RBAC, and security best practices
Driving cost optimization and performance improvements
Supporting Infrastructure as Code and automation initiatives (Terraform is a strong plus)
Profile
7+ years of experience in Microsoft infrastructure, including several years in Azure environments
Proven experience designing secure and scalable cloud architectures
Strong expertise in:
Azure governance, networking, security, and identity
Landing zones and cost management
Containers and Kubernetes (AKS)
Serverless architectures and automation
CI/CD and DevOps (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Strong analytical and communication skills, able to explain complex architecture clearly
Nice to have:
Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or certifications like MCSE Private Cloud / MCSA Windows Server.
Languages:
Professional proficiency in Dutch and English.
