Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Safety & Compliance Specialist to reinforce our Maintenance & Engineering team, playing a vital role in strengthening our Safety Management System (SMS), managing technical investigations, and fostering a strong safety culture within the Part-145 organization. Does this sound like your kind of challenge?

1. You serve as the primary point of contact for occurrence reporting within the M&E Part-145 organization and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
2. You process and categorize incoming safety reports, making sure information flows to the right stakeholders and mitigation actions are in place.
3. You lead internal investigations following incidents involving maintenance staff, conducting interviews and verifying compliance through audits.
4. You investigate reports from external parties such as SAFA, BAC, CAMO or BCAA, and deliver clear and concise investigation reports in response.
5. You collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient incident resolution and reporting within the Safety Management System.
6. You identify and document compliance or safety concerns, supported by solid evidence and follow-up actions.
7. You conduct evaluations and assessments to proactively identify potential safety risks and opportunities for improvement.
8. You re-audit compliance findings to ensure corrective actions are effective and sustainable.
9. You compile and submit clear, timely audit reports and risk assessments, keeping key stakeholders informed.
10. You conduct safety audits within the Part-145 scope and collaborate with Health & Safety on shared safety initiatives.
11. You act as a Subject Matter Expert during Organizational Risk Assessments (ORAs) and support CAMO audit activities where needed.
12. You deliver SMS and Health & Safety training to Maintenance & Engineering colleagues and contribute to team competence assessments.
13. You help shape our safety culture by writing safety communications like articles, flash messages, and campaign materials.
14. You actively represent the department in safety boards and working groups such as the Safety Action Group and Safety Review Board.
15. You act as a trusted and approachable contact person within the M&E team
16. You will act as backup for the Part-145 maintenance auditor when required.
