Harmonized Standards Compliance Specialist
This role involves enforcing the correct implementation of CEN and CENELEC rules for drafting harmonized standards. You will assess draft standard content against predefined criteria to support compliance with European Legislation.
You will also engage with standard drafters to raise awareness on rules and best practices, lead training and webinars on the rules and new aspects in the harmonized standards development process, and propose solutions to diverse issues to enhance the quality and timeliness of Harmonized Standards.
You will build relationships and networks, coordinate and cooperate with the European Commission and its contractors, and prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for submission to relevant stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering or equivalent, very good spoken and written English, relevant professional experience in the EU environment, and awareness of EU institutions and regulatory processes.
They should be analytical, curious, and have a broad interest in technical topics, able to work against tight deadlines, being structured and organized, with a high capability for prioritization and flexibility.
Able to understand and act according to standardization rules, explain complex matters in a clear and didactical way, and promote a collaborative team environment.
This is a two-year contract opportunity for individuals who are analytical, patient, resilient, and diplomatic, with the ability to remain calm and thoughtful under pressure.
