We are working on behalf of a leading general contractor who are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to take full ownership of the planning function on a major data centre development in Belgium.
This is a senior role, leading a team of planners and ensuring effective project controls are in place across the full lifecycle — from CSA through to commissioning.
The Role:
As Planning Manager, you will be a key member of the project leadership team, responsible for setting the standard in programme management and progress reporting. You will structure and oversee the planning team, ensuring clear responsibilities, consistent delivery, and accurate project forecasting.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leadership: Managing, mentoring and developing a team of planners (graduate through senior level), creating a high-performing function.
* Programme ownership: Leading the preparation and management of pre-construction, construction and commissioning programmes in Primavera P6.
* Strategic oversight: Driving planning processes, aligning schedules with commercial and operational objectives, and ensuring buildability across CSA, structural and MEP phases.
* Stakeholder engagement: Representing the planning function in internal and external meetings, providing clarity and direction to clients, subcontractors and project partners.
* Progress monitoring: Overseeing regular site walks, ensuring accurate progress reporting, and identifying risks or delays early with mitigation strategies.
* Data & reporting: Leveraging tools such as Excel, Power BI and Bluebeam to produce clear, actionable deliverables for the project team and stakeholders.
* Collaboration: Working closely with commercial, procurement, engineering and QA/commissioning teams to maintain alignment across the project lifecycle.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven track record in Primavera P6 on large-scale projects.
* Solid mechanical and electrical construction knowledge, ideally within data centres.
* Experience managing and developing a planning team.
* Strong understanding of delay analysis techniques.
* Knowledge of BIM processes and QA/commissioning requirements at project turnover.
