To strengthen our RCT (Robot Casting Technology) team within Ghlin R&D Center of Excellence, we are looking for a RCT Automation Manager.
The high degree of customization in demanding steel industry involved in Robot Casting Technology OEM scale system integration projects requires technical expertise and leadership to deliver high end solutions that match customer needs and processes.
In this role, your mission is to lead a team of 5 automation engineers across multiple customer projects by leveraging your leadership and expertise in automated systems integration. You drive the team development and engagement, coordinate the resources and activities planning and provide technical direction aligned with business requirements and projects goals.
As the RCT Automation Manager, you are responsible for both overseeing team projects works and handle direct tasks based on the resource plan with flexibility to travel internationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of automation engineers engaged in executing projects development works from basic engineering till commissioning at the customer facility.
* Facilitate effective collaboration between key internal departments such as Mechanical Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, QMS, Workshop, and Project Management to ensure performance and on time delivery of the system to the customer.
* Oversee project technical progress, team workload and planning to anticipate potential roadblocks and propose actions. Provide regular and proactive updates to PLN Manager, Project Managers and customers.
* Assess team capabilities and drive both individual and collective development in technical and soft skills.
* Support continuous improvement by relaying feedback and technical issues within the organization and ensure appropriate follow-up of the actions.
* Promote and maintain efficient methodologies by consolidating and sharing best practices, design guidelines and standards aiming for continuous improvement of the work performed.
* Track performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective measures when necessary.
Requirements
* Master’s degree in Automation, Robotics or Mechatronics Engineering.
* 5 to 10 years of experience in robotics and mechatronics with proven track record in system integration projects.
* Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and fostering high levels of engagement.
* Proficiency in PLC hardware/software (Siemens S7, TIA Portal) and HMI programming
* Experience with industrial robotic systems programming and teaching
* Knowledge of process integrated simulation tools
* Solid grounding in automation field instrumentation (sensors, actuators, electrical systems)
* Familiar with project management tools such as MS Project, FMEA and risk assessment methods
* Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems with holistic view on complete system solution
* Knowledge of machine and process safety standards (e.g., 2006/42/CE, robot safety, automatic safety functions)
* High organizational acumen for managing multiple projects simultaneously in various development phases seeking for continuous improvement of methods and best practices
* Excellent communication abilities
* Results-driven, with a focus on meeting technical and timeline objectives
* Adaptable and creative in resolving technical and resource constraints
* Practical and hands-on mindset providing direct support to projects engineering activities
* Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
