PpMedTech Europe, the European trade association representing the medical technology industries, from diagnosis to cure, is currently looking for a Director Sustainability Environment. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape the MedTech Europe voice in the European sustainability debate, influencing policy directions and supporting the transition towards more sustainable healthcare systems while ensuring continued access to innovative medical technologies for patients in need. You will be part of the MedTech Europe Leadership Team and you will report to the Director General of Industrial Affairs. /p pYou’ll lead a team of four Sustainability Environment staff while working in partnership with other teams and across our association membership. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Policy Leadership /h3 ul liLead priority sustainability and environmental policy portfolios (e.g. circular economy, waste management, decarbonisation, ESG reporting) /li liShape and drive strategic industry positions on EU Green Deal and related legislative initiatives /li liAct as a key spokesperson for MedTech Europe on sustainability and environmental topics /li liPromote the role of the medical technology sector in delivering sustainable healthcare systems. /li /ul h3Stakeholder Engagement /h3 ul liMaintain strong relationships with key EU institutions, policymakers, regulators, and sustainability stakeholders /li liLead coalition-building efforts and engagement with industry associations, cross-sector alliances, and environmental platforms /li /ul h3Members Support /h3 ul liWork with members to develop consensus positions on sustainability and environmental policy questions /li liMaintain a continuous engagement with members at the technical, policy and board level. /li /ul h3Team Leadership /h3 ul liFoster a strong, purpose-driven team culture /li liSupport team members in their development to realise their potential /li liEnsure agile and effective internal processes /li /ul h3Cross-Departmental Support /h3 ul liProvide sustainability and environmental expertise across policy areas (e.g. regulatory, digital, market access) leading to internal alignment and consistency of messaging. /li liIntegrate the priorities and considerations from the ESG groups into the broader strategy of the association. /li /ul h3Sustainability Intelligence Foresight /h3 ul liMonitor and analyse EU policy and regulatory developments related to sustainability, environment, and ESG /li liProvide forward-looking insights on emerging trends and risks affecting the sector /li liEnsure effective intelligence-sharing and coordination of stakeholder insights to inform advocacy /li /ul h3The Requirements /h3 ul liMinimum 10 years of experience in Environmental Affairs, Healthcare, EU Institutions or Industry /li liMaster’s degree, ideally in Environmental, Biomedical, Natural, Political or Social Sciences /li liExcellent EU legislative knowledge, especially related to environmental and/or chemical and/or healthcare regulations /li liProven experience leading, organizing and reporting on projects to diverse audiences /li liProven experience building and leading high-performing teams /li liDemonstrated ability to operate effectively at the senior leadership level /li liStrong track record of driving strategic change and innovation /li liExperience collaborating with C‑suite executives and board members /li liPartnership-focused with demonstrated ability to work closely with peer‑level directors and cross‑functional leadership teams /li liStrong communication and interpersonal skills, including a forte for active listening /li liFluent in English, other EU language(s) highly appreciated /li /ul h3The Offer /h3 ul liA permanent full‑time work contract (39h/week) under Belgium law /li liCompetitive salary package plus additional benefits, including a performance bonus, company car/mobility budget, lunch vouchers, mobile phone subscription, work laptop, pension plan medical insurance /li liBe a representative of a well‑established and innovative European industry /li liOpportunity to be a member of a motivated, dynamic and international team /li liOpportunity for trainings and personal development /li liPossibility of homeworking 2 days/week /li /ul h3Application Process /h3 pInterested candidates should send a CV in English and a motivation letter to Lucie Turkova, Manager HR ( ) with the Subject: Application - Director Sustainability. /p pEarly applications are encouraged as applicants will be assessed on a rolling basis. /p pPlease note that only short‑listed candidates will be contacted. /p pDeadline of submission: 17 July 2026. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
