The AI Systems department develops advanced AI compute solutions involving models, algorithms, sensors, and hardware for diverse architectures. The AI Models group focuses on AI and scientific simulation algorithms to optimize SW-HW integration and develop novel ML/Hybrid-AI methods for semiconductor processing and healthcare applications. This position is based in Leuven, Belgium. We are expanding our team to enhance expertise in performance evaluation of Machine Learning workloads and algorithmic optimization. The candidate will develop a framework to represent distributed AI/ML workloads, facilitating performance analysis across device and network models for future exascale systems. What you will do Represent AI/ML workloads for performance evaluation of exascale systems. Create mini-apps and benchmarks by analyzing AI models/workloads. Study performance optimization of deep learning workloads for exascale systems. Explore emerging AI/ML algorithms for custom architectures to enable SW-HW co-design. Stay updated with the latest AI/ML research to implement cutting-edge algorithms. Initially, you'll participate in the EuroHPC DARE project to promote Europe's independence in high-performance computing and AI. Qualifications PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent. Strong background in parallel programming, CUDA, and Python. Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax). Experience with distributed training frameworks (Ray, Dask, PyTorch Lightning). Knowledge of algorithmic optimization techniques like quantization, pruning, and distributed training. Experience in software performance analysis and optimization. Experience with AI Compute Architectures is a plus. Understanding of performance analysis tools and hardware optimization. Team player with strong communication skills.
