Job Title: Civil Designer – Infrastructure Projects

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Designer to support infrastructure projects in Belgium on a 12‑month freelance contract. The role focuses on the design and drafting of civil infrastructure works using AutoCAD Civil 3D, within a BIM-based project environment. You will collaborate closely with engineers, BIM coordinators, and project teams to deliver high-quality technical design documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed civil design and infrastructure drawings (roads, utilities, earthworks, drainage, rail or water infrastructure)
* Develop 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Produce construction-ready drawings, plans, profiles, and cross-sections
* Work within BIM workflows, ensuring models and drawings meet project and client standards
* Coordinate with civil engineers and multidisciplinary teams to integrate design inputs
* Apply Belgian standards, guidelines, and project specifications
* Revise drawings based on design changes and technical feedback
* Maintain accurate documentation and version control throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Civil Designer or Civil CAD Technician on infrastructure projects
* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (mandatory)
* Practical experience with BIM modeling and drafting
* Background in infrastructure works (e.g. roads, utilities, rail, water, urban infrastructure)
* Good understanding of civil engineering drawings and construction detailing
* Ability to work independently in a freelance/contract environment
* Fluent Dutch (spoken and written) – essential
* English working proficiency; French is a plus
* Available for a 12-month freelance assignment
Nice to Have
* Experience working in Belgium or familiarity with Belgian infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of additional BIM tools (e.g. Navisworks, Revit, or similar)
* Experience collaborating with public authorities or major infrastructure clients
