Launched in 2015, our flagship event, Paradise City Festival, has earned a reputation as one of the world’s most sustainable festivals. We also proudly promote Paradies Garten, Doel Festival, Touquet Music Beach Festival, and Jazz Middelheim Festival. As we experience rapid growth, we are on a lookout for a dynamic Director of operations and finance to bring structure and stability to our operations while fostering our creative spirit.
Paradise City has a core team of approximately 25 team members and is based in Brussels, with small offices in Lille (France) and Vienna (Austria).
Your Role
We are seeking an experienced senior manager to take on the dual role of Director of operations and Director of Finance. This role is instrumental to create synergies among our festivals while implementing processes that enable flexibility and creativity. You will ensure that we scale sustainably and manage risk effectively.

You’ll be at the forefront of shaping our operational landscape while ensuring our financial health. Here’s a glimpse of your responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Operational leadership
·Manage the day-to-day operations of our company and the overhead budget.
·Leadership over operational team, HR, sustainability manager and office management
·Design and implement operational frameworks that streamline processes while sparking creativity among our teams.
·Develop and implement robust processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of festival planning and production.
·Identify and capitalize on synergies between different projects to optimize resource allocation and operational workflows.
Financial leadership
·Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support the company’s growth objectives.
·Ensure robust financial controls and reporting mechanisms are in place to drive transparency and accountability.
·Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement cost-effective initiatives that align with company goals.
·Contribute to the strategic planning process, aligning financial and operational strategies with the overall vision of the company.
·Make sure the company manages risks properly.
·In the lead within the company for legal topics.
·Leadership over the financial controlling team.
Strategic leadership
·Together with the CEO and Sales & Marketing Manager you’ll form the management team.
·Identify and seize new opportunities for growth and innovation, helping us stay ahead in an ever-evolving industry.
·Support business development efforts, from expanding our festival family to forging exciting partnerships that resonate with our vision.
·Foster a vibrant company culture where creativity and teamwork flourish. Lead our team of 30+ individuals with enthusiasm, mentoring talent and encouraging collaboration.
·Be the heart of our organization, ensuring that our mission and values are reflected in every decision, every interaction, and every festival.
Who you are:
·Very organized, process driven and very strong financial management skills.
·Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective operational and financial strategies in a growing organization.
·Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
·Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
·A creative thinker who thrives in a start-up culture, enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and looks forward to building and shaping structures that support visionary ideas.
·Proven experience in a senior management role, ideally encompassing both operations and finance. An experience within the festival, events, music or a creative industry is a plus, not a must.
·Strong affinity for and understanding of music and cultural events is a plus.
·Affinity with sustainability is a significant advantage.
·Fluent communication skills in Dutch, French and English.
