Brussels Airport aims to be known as one of the best airports in the world: a fully connected economic hub for people and businesses, the beating heart of Europe, where customers, innovation, and sustainability take center stage. Do you want to help shape the airport of today and tomorrow?
Stop dreaming and come strengthen our team!
To reinforce our Technology & Infrastructure department, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager (Cargo & Commercial Real Estate).
As Senior Product Manager (Cargo and Commercial Real Estate), you manage the full lifecycle of cargo and commercial real estate ICT products and applications (from strategy & change through run & continuous improvement).
You ensure that our decision-supporting tools are reliable, available, and future‑proof—so that, on the one hand, cargo community partners (handlers, forwarders, sales agents, truckers, and by extension airlines) can collaborate smoothly and cargo can be transported efficiently and with high quality through our airport, and on the other hand that the tenants of our buildings are served in a solid and professional manner. To achieve this, you work closely with the business line owners of both business domains.
Context & Scope
Cargo domain contributes to our focus on hub performance and includes, among others, BRUcloud and the Cargo Platform, where value creation is realized by creating transparency in the logistics chain. From a business perspective, there is a need to respond quickly to market evolutions, which translates into short delivery iterations.
The Commercial Real Estate domain contributes to our diversification strategy and consists of three subdomains, each with its own emerging or existing ICT landscape:
Terminal & Building and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) – two domains that are still under development within the ICT landscape, in which you will be involved from the very start.
Staff Mobility Services – existing applications that are undergoing optimization trajectories while also being confronted with certain lifecycle initiatives.
You are the expert and single point of contact (SPOC) for the applications that (will) exist within the above domains. You are responsible for supporting and optimizing these tools, each of which plays a crucial role in our day‑to‑day airport operations. You leverage and strengthen our data exchange with (airport) partners and other channels, in collaboration with the internal data integration department. You work within the Airport ICT service cluster and collaborate closely with fellow service clusters and product teams.
Your Impact
Operational continuity: you keep ICT products performant, compliant, and cost‑efficient.
Business value: you translate (internal) customer needs into a clear roadmap and measurable outcomes.
Ecosystem collaboration: you connect community stakeholders and internal teams through data and process integrations, with a focus on value creation.
What You Will Achieve With Us
Lifecycle management: planning upgrades, patching, end‑of‑life trajectories, and risk & compliance monitoring.
Run budget: end‑to‑end budget responsibility within the broader service budget.
Continuous improvement: translating trends in business and technology into concrete improvements (reliability, usability, TCO).
Backlog management: managing the backlog within your domain and setting priorities in consultation with various stakeholders.
Roadmap shaping: based on customer needs, product vision, market insights, and enterprise architecture, you provide input for the service line roadmap; you substantiate business cases and priorities.
Project delivery: you realize roadmap epics through projects (typically ≤ 50% of your time spent on project governance) with clear scope, planning, benefits, and adoption plans.
Architecture & integrations: you work closely with enterprise and solution architects to ensure sustainable integrations (API‑first, data‑driven) and products.
Multidisciplinary leadership: you work with multiple teams across departments and with external partners.
Knowledge building: you build communities around ICT products and stimulate knowledge sharing within the product and business domains.
Stakeholder engagement: you facilitate and participate in user groups (airlines, handlers, operations, commercial) as ICT SPOC and build support up to C‑level.
What Sets You Apart
Master’s degree or equivalent through experience.
≥ 5 years of relevant experience in product, program, or project management of mission‑critical systems.
Proven track record in complex environments (airport, industry, or service‑intensive sectors).
Strong knowledge of product management, roadmap development, project and program management.
Strong stakeholder management skills (including C‑level), with proven diplomacy and negotiation abilities.
Ability to translate vision into concrete deliverables, with attention to governance and stakeholder management.
Analytical, results‑driven, structured; ownership of budget, roadmap, quality, and risk.
Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset—your drive for results and your energy to engage others create added value for internal customers.
Experience in people management and in leading multidisciplinary teams.
Customer‑oriented, communicative, and diplomatic: you know how to align interests and build support.
Languages: fluency in Dutch with a good command of English. French is an asset.
Assets
Experience in (aviation) operations, OT/IT convergence, or domains such as real estate.
Affinity with API platforms and contracts, SLA/SLO thinking, reliability engineering, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Experience with tender procedures.
Experience in change management.
Knowledge of ITIL/COBIT, Agile/Scaled Agile, and enterprise architecture principles.
