About the Role RELYzIT Talent is seeking an Interim IT Director (Freelance) for a 6-month mission with our client, a leading cooperative supporting over 20,000 independent professionals across Belgium. This is a pivotal opportunity to lead, stabilize, and shape the future of a dynamic IT organization during a key period of transition. What You’ll Be Doing Lead and stabilize the IT department, ensuring continuity across applications, product management, infrastructure, and operations Coach and empower team managers, fostering a culture of ownership and high performance Establish clear governance, decision frameworks, and robust delivery models (Build & Run) Manage IT budgets, infrastructure, and services with a focus on cost control and value creation Conduct a comprehensive diagnostic of IT organization, governance, architecture, delivery, operations, and security Deliver a structured diagnostic report to executive leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities Define and communicate a clear IT vision, transformation trajectory, and target architecture (applications, infrastructure, cloud, security) Align technology strategy with business priorities and ethical, eco‑responsible values Develop a prioritized, actionable roadmap for IT transformation and operational excellence Document all decisions, initiatives, and recommendations to ensure a seamless transition to the future permanent IT Director Support knowledge transfer and onboarding for the incoming IT leader What We’re Looking For Minimum 10 years’ experience as an IT Director or equivalent, with proven leadership of IT teams and managers Demonstrated success in transition, transformation, or turnaround environments Expertise in structuring and stabilizing complex organizations Deep understanding of Microsoft‑centric ecosystems, including .NET / .NET MVC, Entity Framework, and Microsoft infrastructure & collaboration tools Advanced skills in budget management, change management, corporate governance, and strategic management Experience in IT governance, architecture, and performance management Strategic consulting experience (intermediate+) Strong leadership, team alignment, and the ability to quickly build trust in a transition context Strategic, analytical, and pragmatic mindset with a results‑oriented approach Excellent communication skills with both executive and technical audiences Autonomous yet empowering management style Technical Skills & Tools Entity Framework Microsoft infrastructure & collaboration tools IT governance frameworks Agile and project management methodologies Security and risk management French — Full professional proficiency required English — Professional working proficiency required Other Requirements Freelance position — 6‑month assignment, with potential for extension Hybrid work model based in Brussels, Belgium Experience in large‑scale IT environments supporting both internal staff and external members Ability to deliver structured reports and actionable recommendations to executive leadership Screening Questions Can you demonstrate previous experience as an Interim or Transitional IT Director?
