Business Line Manager, IEC Explosion‑proof Motors
We are looking for an Industry Sales Manager to lead and develop mid‑ and long‑term industry and portfolio strategy for IEC LV Hazardous Area motors, focusing on Chemical, Oil & Gas, Ex Marine and Emerging segments and continuously improving it to support ABB market penetration and growth aspirations. In this role, you will develop and implement a market‑based strategy including direct, third‑party and project sales, drive and enhance cross‑division and cross‑region business‑led collaborations for the above‑mentioned segments and understand the key business drivers of the focus segments in conjunction with the business environment. You will also interpret the impact and opportunity for ABB, define, plan and lead together with Business Line the development of the Hazardous Area motor portfolio to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability and market share.
You Will Be Mainly Accountable For
* Developing and executing industry segment strategy, including market footprint, value proposition, target projects, and continuous monitoring of trends, competitors, and opportunities.
* Driving profitable growth and market penetration by expanding end‑user activities, securing AVL approvals, identifying major accounts, and supporting sales with strong segment positioning.
* Building and strengthening external relationships with key customers, influencers, and the broader market through communication efforts, events, and collaboration with Marketing.
* Enabling internal alignment and capability building by promoting cross‑division collaboration, sharing knowledge, coordinating actions across teams, and ensuring organizational effectiveness and skill development.
The work model for the role is hybrid.
The role is contributing to the Motion IEC LV Motors division globally.
Qualifications For The Role
* Minimum 8‑10 years of experience in sales with heavy industry background (Oil & Gas, Chemical, Hydrogen, etc.)
* Solid experience with working with EPCs and OEMs.
* Technical understanding of low‑voltage motors is an advantage.
* University degree in business, engineering or other relevant field.
* Self‑driven, independent work‑style.
* Great communication and influencing skills.
* Strategic and systematic thinker, ability to see the big picture.
* Fluent English language skills.
