An international pharmaceutical company with a strong industrial footprint in Belgium is looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function of its manufacturing site located in the southern part of Brussels. As a key member of the Site Leadership Team and together with your HR team of two direct reports, you will play a central role in shaping the people strategy, strengthening organizational capabilities, and supporting the site's growth and operational excellence.
Job Description
Team Leadership
Provide guidance, coaching and structure to your team of two direct reports, ensuring strong HR service delivery and continuous development of their capabilities.
Act as a people leader who promotes collaboration, clarity, and accountability within the HR function.
Strategic HR Business Partnering
Act as an active member of the Site Leadership Team, defining HR policies and processes aligned with business needs.
Support leaders in shaping the most effective organizational structure.
Anticipate talent and capability needs in line with site evolution and development.
Understand operational challenges and provide actionable HR insight to support decision‐making.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Ensure compliance with recruitment policies, while proactively recommending improvements.
Oversee the preparation and validation of job descriptions, interview guides, and recruitment documentation.
Conduct pre‐screenings, coordinate interviews, and participate in final selections.
Manage the full hiring administration process and maintain an organized talent pipeline.
Lead a structured onboarding and integration process (induction, training, administrative set‐up, etc.) to secure long‐term talent retention.
Compensation & Benefits
Support payroll administration with accurate HR inputs.
Develop and maintain competitive compensation and benefits packages in line with group policy.
Lead salary negotiations for new hires and existing staff, ensuring fairness and internal equity.
Consolidate annual salary review proposals and liaise with Group HR for board approval.
Monitor market trends to ensure competitive positioning and lead the site's implementation of the Pay transparency Directive.
Guarantee accuracy and timely submission of payroll information together with your team members.
HR Policies, Procedures & Social Legislation
Ensure local HR practices comply with Belgian legislation and group standards.
Deploy and continuously improve core HR policies (leave management, payroll transitions, training policy, internship policy, onboarding, etc.).
Ensure compliance with local legal frameworks and best practices.
Core HR Processes & People Development
Work with managers to ensure clear objective‐setting for all new employees.
Lead the performance management cycle, monitoring deadlines and training managers as required.
Deploy goal‐setting processes in coordination with the Leadership Team.
Build and implement the site's annual training plan aligned with capability development priorities.
Support managers in handling performance issues constructively and professionally.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Master's degree in Human Resources or Social/Employment Law or equivalent by experience.
Minimum 10 years of HR experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Solid HR generalist background with both strategic and hands‐on responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of Belgian labour law and proven experience in social dialogue with union representatives.
Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally including the management of a small HR team.
Strong organisational, project‐management, and change‐management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with multicultural teams.
Fluent in French, English and Dutch.
