Context
As an intern within the Global Equity team at Degroof Petercam Asset Management, you will gain hands-on exposure to fundamental equity investing in a professional, international asset-management environment. You will work closely with experienced portfolio managers and analysts, contributing to real investment research across global markets, sectors, and sustainability themes. The role offers a unique opportunity to develop financial analysis, critical thinking, and market insight while being involved in day-to-day portfolio discussions. Your position
As a Global Equity Intern within Degroof Petercam Asset Management, you will work as a junior analyst, focusing on in-depth company research rather than operational support. The role is centered on the preparation of one or more full investment cases and the development of ESG scorecards, contributing directly to the team's investment decision process.
Core Responsibilities And Day-to-day Activities Include
Preparing fundamental investment cases on selected listed companies, covering business models, competitive positioning, financial performance, growth drivers, risks, and valuation
Structuring research outputs into clear, well-argued investment notes and presentations for discussion within the Global Equity team
Conducting deep-dive ESG analysis on assigned companies, including qualitative assessment of governance, sustainability risks, and long-term impact
Participating in research discussions and feedback sessions with portfolio managers and analysts, refining investment theses based on team input
Position Within The Organization
The intern reports directly to a Senior Portfolio Manager
The role is fully integrated within the Global Equity research team, functioning as an analyst-in-training rather than an operational support role
The internship provides visibility on how fundamental and ESG research feeds into conviction, portfolio construction, and long-term investment decisions

We are looking for a highly motivated and intellectually curious intern with a strong interest in fundamental equity investing and sustainability.
Education & background
Currently pursuing a Master's
Prior exposure to financial markets or equity analysis through coursework, internships, student investment clubs, or personal investing is an asset
Technical & analytical skills
Basic financial analysis skills, with the ability to understand business models, financial statements, and valuation concepts
Solid quantitative and qualitative research skills, including the ability to synthesize information into a clear investment thesis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset)

High level of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently on in-depth research projects while incorporating feedback
Structured, rigorous, and comfortable defending an analytical viewpoint in discussion
Professional, discreet, and reliable in a confidential investment environment
Availability
Available for a full-time internship for a defined period, typically 3 to 6 months
