At Sweet Mustard, we build custom digital products that solve real business challenges for ambitious companies.
As a Software Architect, you design the backbone of those solutions. You translate business goals into solid architectures, guide our teams in making the right technical decisions and keep an eye on quality, scalability and long‐term maintainability.
You feel at home in technical discussions with developers, but you're just as comfortable explaining trade‐offs to business stakeholders and supporting our commercial conversations when it matters.
Responsibilities
Shape scalable, future‐proof solutions
Translate business needs into high‐level architectures for web and mobile applications: domains, components, integrations, data flows, security.
Define technical standards and guidelines (APIs, patterns, best practices) and help teams apply them consistently.
Assess existing landscapes and propose improvements or modernisation paths that balance impact, risk and cost.
Help estimate effort and planning together with project managers and service development leads.
Guide teams & delivery
Support development teams throughout the project: challenging designs, reviewing key decisions and unblocking complex issues.
Stay close to the teams, joining their reviews and workshops, so you have a clear view on how things are progressing.
Guard the coherence of the architecture during delivery: are we still building what we designed, and does it still match what the client needs?
Facilitate a smooth handover between phases (from discovery to delivery, from MVP to next iterations) by clarifying scope, risks and technical implications.
Promote code quality, performance and security by setting expectations and reviewing critical parts where needed.
Support presales & client conversations
Join client visits and discovery workshops to understand context, constraints and the real problem behind the question.
Help shape solution approaches, scope and phasing for proposals, together with Sales, Project Management and Product.
Answer technical and architectural questions during presales and help build trust in our approach.
Contribute to quotations, proposals and RFP responses where a clear technical story is needed – without losing the business angle.
Contribute to Sweet Mustard's growth
Share best practices around architecture, tooling and ways of working with colleagues.
Help refine our service offering and technical vision based on what you see in projects and in the market.
Be an ambassador for engineering excellence within Sweet Mustard and towards our clients.
