Hays is currently recruiting an experienced Accounting Manager for a client active in the chemical sector, located in the Brussels region. This international company specializes in the production and distribution of chemical solutions used across various industries. Your new role
As Accounting Manager, you will lead the accounting team and ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS standards. You will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, and act as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and tax advisors.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Supervising and coaching a team of 4 accountants
2. Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
3. Managing general ledger activities and reconciliations
4. Overseeing VAT declarations and corporate tax filings
5. Coordinating audits and liaising with external auditors
6. Supporting the implementation of process improvements and internal controls
7. Reporting to the Finance Director and collaborating with other departments
Your profile
You bring a solid background in accounting and leadership, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role. You are fluent in English and either French or Dutch, and have a strong command of IFRS standards. Your profile includes:
8. A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
9. Proven experience in team management and coaching
10. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
11. Excellent communication and organizational abilities
12. Experience in an international environment is a plus.
13. Knowledge of ERP systems and Excel
