Chief of Staff – Data & AI
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly strategic and operationally strong Chief of Staff to partner with our Data & AI leadership team. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of Data & AI, driving cross-functional execution, setting team cadence, optimising strategic initiatives, and ensuring alignment across business and technical teams. You’ll be at the centre of driving operational rigour, communication, and strategic focus in one of the most critical and fast-moving areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution
* Lead annual and quarterly strategic planning processes for the Data & AI organization.
* Translate high-level goals into clear OKRs, initiatives, and roadmaps across data science, engineering, and AI research functions.
* Track progress, identify roadblocks, and ensure accountability across teams.
Operational Leadership
* Design and manage internal operating cadences (weekly leadership meetings, town halls, stand ups, retrospectives).
* Own budget and headcount tracking in partnership with Finance and People teams.
* Lead special projects and critical business initiatives from scoping to delivery.
Cross-functional Coordination
* Partner closely with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Security, and GTM teams to ensure alignment and velocity on Data & AI initiatives.
* Facilitate decision-making processes, ensuring the right stakeholders are informed and engaged.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
* Prepare executive presentations, board materials, and internal comms on behalf of the Head of Data & AI.
* Act as a liaison between the Data & AI leadership and other parts of the organization.
Team Development & Culture
* Drive initiatives to improve team engagement, onboarding, hiring practices, and DEI efforts within the Data & AI organization.
* Support the recruitment of top talent and partner with HR on team org design.
Qualifications:
Required:
* 5+ years of experience in a strategic, operational, or advisory role (e.g., Chief of Staff, Management Consulting, BizOps), ideally in a tech or data-driven environment.
* Strong understanding of data platforms, AI/ML development, and product lifecycle in a modern enterprise.
* Proven track record of leading complex cross-functional programs.
* Exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and high-growth environment.
* Fluent in English and Dutch or French ideally trilingual
Preferred:
* Experience working with or within Data Science, Engineering, or AI R&D teams.
* Familiarity with AI/ML tooling, data governance, and ethical AI practices.
