Context
Our customer is strengthening the digitalization of their business processes through the migration of their ECC system to S/4HANA. It currently operates in an SAP R/3 environment and plans to migrate to SAP S/4HANA by 2029. This transition represents an opportunity to rethink, harmonize, and digitalize business processes for the future S/4HANA landscape.
The objective of this mission is to ensure the support and optimization of the current SAP ECC systems and to carry out all BC activities as part of the migration project to our S/4HANA environment.
Mission
As an expert within the SAP Basis team, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing existing or new components within the SAP environment.
You will actively participate in the ECC RISE to S/4HANA migration.
You will work autonomously under the supervision of the SAP team lead (SAP Technical Domain Lead) and the Head of the SAP Department, and you will be able to communicate effectively with our service providers (SAP ECS, etc.) to address project needs and comply with IT standards and policies.
Expected Deliverables
SAP ECC Technical Administration under RISE
Monitoring the performance of the SAP system hosted on the Azure hyperscaler.
Managing SAP instances (start/stop, logs, traces).
Applying support packages, kernel upgrades, and SAP Notes.
Performing system refreshes (client copies, QA/DEV/PRD system copies).
Administering HANA databases (and Oracle if applicable): backup, restore, optimization.
Implementing security policies (users, roles, authorizations, SSO, SNC).
Monitoring jobs via cALM and system processes.
Transport Management
Coordinating and executing SAP transports between QAS and PRD environments.
Monitoring transport requests, validating dependencies, and managing conflicts.
Ensuring compliance with IT governance processes.
Interface Management
Monitoring flows to file servers, RFCs, and Web Services.
Analyzing and resolving integration errors between SAP ECC and third‑party systems.
Coordinating with functional and technical teams to ensure smooth inter-application communication.
Integration with SAP BTP
Configuring and managing the SAP Cloud Connector.
Integrating with SAP BTP services.
Securing data exchanges between SAP ECC and cloud services.
Providing technical support for innovation or extension projects using BTP.
Monitoring and Reporting
Monitoring through SAP Cloud ALM (cALM).
Implementing and configuring SAP Cloud ALM for SAP system monitoring.
Tracking alerts, performance indicators (KPIs), and incidents.
Integrating cALM with ITSM processes and ticketing tools.
Technical Reporting
Creating performance dashboards and system status reports.
Tracking technical SLAs and documenting major incidents.
Qualifications
Your Profile
Education:
University degree in computer science, management, engineering, or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of SAP Basis experience.
Technical Skills:
In‑depth knowledge of databases: Oracle and HANA.
Hands‑on experience with Unix and Windows.
Experience with SAP RISE and SAP service plans.
At least 5 years of specific, practical experience with SAP Basis technologies, with a proven track record in implementation, upgrade, and maintenance projects.
Strong understanding of current technologies supporting the SAP Business Suite.
Practical experience in system refreshes/copies, backup/restore, and server sizing.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of ERP applications, the system development lifecycle, application development project dynamics, IT practices, and methodologies.
Ability to quickly identify technical risks, analyze impacts, define alternatives, and prioritize to remove technical blockers.
Ability to manage multiple deliverables autonomously in a dynamic environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with tact, discretion, judgment, and diplomacy when interacting or negotiating with internal/external stakeholders and management.
