Maintenance Technician – Contract (Fixed Term) Opportunity | Near Sint-Niklaas
We are currently partnering with a well-known food manufacturing company to recruit an experienced Maintenance Technician for their production facility in Belgium.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly automated, fast-paced site with strong engineering standards and a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Location: Near Sint-Niklaas, Belgium
* Contract: Fixed Term due to seasonal demand

The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting smooth, continuous operations within a food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical troubleshooting and repair of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and drive systems
* Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults including 3-phase systems, sensors, and components
* Supporting automated systems including PLCs, HMIs, and variable speed drives
* Maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems on production and packaging lines
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding quickly to breakdowns
* Using CMMS systems (e.g. SAP) to log work and manage maintenance activities
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives (OEE, root cause analysis, 5 Whys)
Food Safety & Compliance
* Working to HACCP standards and strict hygiene protocols
* Ensuring safe reassembly of equipment following cleaning and maintenance
* Adhering to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and site safety standards
* Using food-grade materials and maintaining high levels of attention to detail
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in food or FMCG manufacturing
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
* Experience working with automated production equipment
* Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
* Ability to work under pressure and respond to breakdowns efficiently
* Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team
