Freelance Opportunity (Autónomo): Junior Network Engineer – Madrid (Initial Onsite Required)
We are currently looking for a Junior Network Engineer to join a freelance project in Madrid.
⚠️ Please note: only junior profiles will be considered for this role.
📍 Location: Madrid (1–2 days onsite at the beginning, then can be remote)
📅 Contract: 6 months + possible extension
🗣️ Languages: Spanish & English required
🔧 Role Overview
You’ll be working in a corporate environment supporting, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for a junior professional looking to gain hands-on experience in an international setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Configuration, administration, and maintenance of corporate networks
* FortiGate firewall support and management
* Aruba switch configuration and administration
* Network monitoring and incident resolution (Level 1–2)
* Technical support to customers (including communication in English)
* Documentation and reporting of incidents
* (Nice to have) Access management via Aruba ClearPass
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (junior profiles only)
* Solid knowledge of:
* TCP/IP, VLANs, routing & switching
* FortiGate (policies, VPNs, security)
* Aruba switching
* Intermediate to advanced English level (technical communication)
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team
Nice to Have
* CCNA certification (or equivalent)
* Experience in cybersecurity environments
* Knowledge of corporate WiFi / wireless networks
* Familiarity with network monitoring tools
