C++ Software Engineer

Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their software engineering team with an experienced C++ Software Engineer.
The Role:
As a C++ Software Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, improving, and extending a mature software platform that supports critical energy management solutions.
You will work on desktop-based applications, modernising existing functionality while ensuring the reliability and performance of legacy systems that remain central to the business.
This position offers a balance between maintaining established software and contributing to the future evolution of the product suite.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain desktop applications using C++
* Analyse, maintain, and improve existing legacy codebases
* Design and implement new software features and enhancements
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues
* Collaborate closely with software engineers, product specialists, and stakeholders
* Contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making
* Improve application performance, stability, and maintainability
* Support software testing and validation activities
Required Skills & Experience:
* Strong commercial experience with C++
* Experience working with and maintaining legacy codebases
* Background in desktop application development
* Experience with MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes)
* Good understanding of software design principles and object-oriented programming
* Experience modernising legacy applications
* Knowledge of Windows-based software development
* Fluent Dutch language skills
