Role Purpose
This role is accountable for accelerating Marketing, Commercial Excellence, and commercial capability development for Abbott Electrophysiology (EP) across EMEA. Working in close partnership with Regional Directors (RDs), General Managers (GMs), Finance, HR, and Global Marketing & Commercial Excellence teams, the position plays a critical role in shaping and executing EMEA’s commercial strategy.
As a member of the EMEA EP Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the role actively contributes to strategic decision-making and holds full accountability for market share growth, revenue acceleration, and profitability improvement across the region
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the EMEA EP Marketing Organization
Provide senior leadership across Marketing to deliver best-in-class, compliant, and growth-driven strategies.
1. Lead the development and execution of best‑in‑class marketing strategies across the Abbott EP portfolio within EMEA, including regional marketing communications aligned to Global and Area strategies
2. Create and sustain a culture centered on portfolio excellence and market leadership across all EP solutions
3. Own product lifecycle management and product line profitability
4. Partner with all Regions to define and implement strategies that grow market share, revenue, and profitability
5. Collaborate closely with Global Marketing to ensure strategic alignment
6. Work hand-in-hand with Regional Directors and Regional Marketing to ensure Global and EMEA-designed programs deliver both local relevance and global consistency
7. Define and lead initiatives for key stakeholders, driven by clear priorities and measurable impact
8. Ensure full compliance across all marketing activities, in line with global and local standards
Lead EMEA EP Commercial Skills & Capability Development
Drive the development of sustainable, future-ready commercial capabilities across the organization.
9. Lead the development of a best‑in‑class commercial training and education strategy, positioning Abbott EP as a gold standard learning brand within the industry
10. Ensure the EP commercial training curriculum is fully aligned to commercial strategy and key growth drivers
11. Drive commercial capability building aligned to the Future of Work agenda within EP
12. Ensure sales and marketing messaging is fully integrated within technical and clinical education programs
13. Ensure all commercial education programs are developed and implemented on time, in line with defined milestones
Lead the EMEA EP Commercial Excellence Team
Enable data-driven decisions, operational rigor, and performance excellence across EMEA.
14. Establish and monitor EMEA-wide KPIs that drive productivity and performance across all Regions
15. Lead the team to support the EMEA Leadership Team with market data, insights, and performance analytics, leveraging tools such as Salesforce.com, Power Apps, and Power BI
16. Drive operational excellence through the effective use of Sales Force tools
17. Lead the EMEA customer segmentation strategy and work with RDs/GMs to localize the approach by country
18. Ensure Market Intelligence (AQMen) insights are translated into strong recommendations that effectively guide regional decision-making
19. Review and optimize sales compensation plan effectiveness and governance, in collaboration with HR and Finance, to reinforce pay-for-performance behaviors
20. Ensure strong adoption and effective use of CRM platforms (Salesforce.com, Power Apps, Power BI) across the EMEA EP commercial organization
Education, Knowledge & Competencies
Knowledge & Experience
21. Deep expertise in the Cardiovascular medical device industry, preferably Electrophysiology (EP), and strong awareness of healthcare market trends
22. Proven experience across Marketing and Commercial Excellence, including marketing operations, performance management, KPI definition, and sales force effectiveness
23. Strong understanding of delivering superior customer experiences across diverse international markets
24. Demonstrated business and commercial acumen

Education & Experience Requirements
Education
34. University degree required; preference for Business Administration, Marketing, or Economics
Experience
35. 10+ years of progressive business experience in customer-facing and cross-functional roles
36. Strong mix of experience in sales, marketing, and customer analytics within multi-brand and/or multichannel organizations
37. Deep expertise in the Cardiovascular medical device industry, preferably Electrophysiology (EP)
