Role – Civil Works Designer - 3D Revit
Location – Brussels, Belgium (hybrid)
Mint Selection are currently seeking a Civil Works Designer to support the realisation and review of building-structure designs across substation and grid projects, ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines and legislation.
Scope of Work
* Prepare, develop, and/or inspect architectural and structural designs for typical substation-related assets, including:
* Industrial buildings for GIS installations, relay rooms, MV cubicles
* Transformer bays/berths with or without oil containment
* Foundation blocks for AIS equipment, with or without deep foundations
* Soundproof and fire-resistant walls
* Shared underground oil containment pits
* Foundations for high-voltage pylons on spread footings or pile foundations
* Project-specific structures (retaining walls, underground substations, cable tunnels, etc.)
* Produce permit and implementation drawings, including detailed formwork and reinforcement plans, ready for construction.
* Contribute to CW drafting guidelines and drawing standards; write drawing instructions that capture regulations.
* Help develop the BIM standard and create/maintain standard 3D models and libraries.
* Coordinate daily with internal/external designers and CW project engineers; ensure drawings are clear, consistent, and fully aligned with other disciplines.
* Plan and manage your own workload and deliverables to agreed schedules and milestones.
* For outsourced studies, review submitted plans, consolidate comments, and communicate feedback clearly to partners and CW project engineers through to final validation.
* Support design quality, constructability, and compliance checks; ensure deliverables meet technical standards and legislative requirements.
* Maintain drawing registers and version control; ensure redlines/as-builts are captured and issued correctly.
Experience to be Considered
* Bachelor’s degree (or secondary education diploma) ideally with a specialization in civil engineering.
* Proven affinity with producing permit and implementation plans for civil works.
* Working knowledge of Dutch and/or French; good basic English is an advantage.
* Collaborative, customer-oriented communicator with strong teamwork skills and the ability to interface with multiple departments and external stakeholders.
* Strong spatial awareness and understanding of 3D models and their implications on design and construction.
* Proficient with a CAD platform such as Revit (3D) or similar.
* Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); familiarity with planning tools (e.g., MS Project) is a plus.
* High interest in evolving design technologies; experience with BIM workflows and common data environments (e.g., ACC) is a strong plus.
* Attention to detail, organized approach, and the ability to check cross-discipline consistency.
This role is a 12 month initial contract with a high potential of extension. You will be required in the office 2 days per week.
