Antwerp, Belgium Freelance / Contract About the Role We are supporting a leading industrial manufacturing company based in the Antwerp region that is investing in the design and build of new production lines. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in developing bespoke machinery and automated production systems. This position offers full project involvement—from initial concept through to installation and commissioning—working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical concepts for new production lines Create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings Work across the full project lifecycle (concept → build → commissioning) Collaborate closely with automation and electrical engineers Specify and select mechanical components (conveyors, drives, gearboxes, etc.) Ensure designs comply with Machinery Directive and safety standards Support on-site installation, testing, and troubleshooting when required What You Bring Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within industrial or manufacturing environments Background in machine building, production lines, or automated systems Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams English required; Dutch is highly preferred Why This Opportunity? xjsrcvq Work on brand-new production line projects from scratch Long-term contract potential with extensions High level of ownership and technical autonomy Stable pipeline of upcoming engineering projects Call to Action (important for response rate): If you're a Mechanical Design Engineer based in or near Antwerp and open to your next project, apply directly or message me for more details.
