📢 Are you passionate about animal protection and have working experience providing HR operational support? Humane World is looking for a highly organised and people-focused HR Operations Support professional to join our team on n a consultancy basis. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining strong compliance with country‑specific payroll, pay, and employment regulations across multiple EU jurisdictions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys hands‑on work across the full employee lifecycle and is comfortable acting as a trusted operational advisor on leave, pay, and payroll‑related matters in at least two EU countries.
⏰ Working hours are flexible and can be spread across the week, making this role well suited to an experienced consultant balancing multiple commitments.
Some basic info on the role:
- Part-time, 8 hours per week, June 2026-November 2026, with the potential for extension.
- Candidate should be based in the EU, preferably in Belgium or The Netherlands.
- Consultancy basis.
What Will You Do?
· Acting as a first point of contact for employee queries on country-specific leave rules, time-off entitlements, and pay or pay-related elements.
· Liaise with payroll providers to process monthly payroll and monitor annual leave entitlements.
· Researching and documenting local regulations to create clear, accessible guidance and reduce ad-hoc queries.
· Reviewing and updating internal HR, operational, and compliance-related policies to ensure they stay current and legally compliant.
· Managing the operational side of recruitment, including drafting and posting job adverts, coordinating interviews, and working closely with hiring managers.
· Preparing employment contracts and supporting hiring documentation.
· Overseeing smooth and consistent onboarding and offboarding processes.
· Coordinating Health & Safety requirements, including workstation risk assessments and mandatory training.
Who Are We Looking For?
An individual with:
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in HR operations, or a similar HR support role.
- Demonstrated hands‑on knowledge of payroll regulations in at least two EU countries where we operate (Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Romania).
- Strong knowledge of HR processes, with the ability to interpret and explain regulations clearly.
- Confidence working with multiple stakeholders, including payroll providers and hiring managers.
- A proactive, service-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in supporting employees.
- Fluency in English – both written and spoken.
- Must be a professional consultant and based in Belgium or the Netherlands.
- Will be required to sign a conflict-of-interest declaration and non-disclosure agreement.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

The gross renumeration for this role will be circa 1,800 € gross per month, all included (depending on experience level and availability). This is a part-time assignment, estimated at 32 hours per month.
