Job title: Senior Design & Project Engineer — Go-Karts & Personal Vehicles
As Senior Design & Project Engineer, you will be the technical lead in the commercial process.
You won’t carry sales responsibilities, but you will act as the go-to technical counterpart in client discussions — often working directly with engineering teams from leading international brands.
Your mission: understand complex technical needs, think proactively, and design smart, manufacturable, and cost-conscious solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
This is not a support role — it’s one with ownership, visibility, and strategic importance, enabling my client to stand out through technical excellence and innovative design.
Your responsibilities
Technical leadership in customer interaction
* Join client meetings when in-depth technical expertise is required.
* Understand and translate complex requirements into clear, feasible product concepts.
* Serve as the internal and external reference point for product-related technical discussions.
* Help the sales team offer better solutions — not by selling, but by bringing smart engineering into the conversation.
Project management for technically complex builds
* Lead internal project management for technically demanding projects.
* Coordinate with production, R&D, suppliers, and clients to align feasibility, timing, and cost.
* Collaborate closely with the R&D team on more complex or innovative developments.
Technical design & CAD work
* Translate concepts into production-ready drawings and documentation.
* Either create the technical drawings yourself or oversee work from the junior designer.
* Be comfortable with 2D/3D CAD tools for quick intervention when needed.
Market insight & product roadmap contribution
* Capture market signals from client interactions and turn them into product improvements.
* Contribute ideas for the long-term evolution of the product range.
* Support innovation projects alongside the R&D team.
Your profile
* Experience in mechanical product development, design, or engineering project management — ideally in mobility, motorsport, or mechanical components.
* Background in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with strong affinities in product development and testing.
* Clear and confident communicator — able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Proactive problem-solver with a balance of creativity and pragmatism.
* Confident in creating and interpreting technical drawings.
* Organized and capable of managing multiple projects at once.
* Enjoys working in a small, entrepreneurial team where ideas become reality quickly.
* Languages: fluent in English; Dutch, French, or German is a plus.
* Full-time presence at their Mechelen office is preferred, with occasional flexibility.
What’s on offer
* A key, strategic role in a company at the forefront of recreational vehicle design.
* The chance to contribute to exciting, sustainable, and innovative mobility solutions.
* A culture that values initiative, craftsmanship, and teamwork.
* Close collaboration with both customers and colleagues in a flat, agile organization.
* Autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to shape your own role.
