Today we are looking for a Protein Application Engineer to strengthen our Sales and Application team and in this way to further support our growth.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Protein Application Engineer, you combine practical technical know-how with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. You guide customer projects from first initial trials to successful implementation, develop new recipes with our VEPRO and PROMYC proteins, and share your insights through seminars and demonstrations. You take care of the pilot plant in Zwevezele and create clear, inspiring product concepts that help customers see what is possible, supporting the sales team in a collaborative way.
Your tasks:
1. You play a proactive role in product innovation projects and the creation of concepts, as a result of customer visits by our Sales Managers and the long-term vision of the VEOS group.
2. You advise and guide the customer (whether or not remotely) in the use of our proteins in their production process and support them in the further optimization of the recipe of their end product;
3. To this end you characterize samples of raw materials, manufactures and end products;
4. You personally perform the necessary tests in the application centre and provide the necessary demo products for customers where necessary;
5. You organize and deliver seminars and workshops for customers in consultation with the Commercial Directors;
6. You are able to clearly document and explain your analysis results, to work out proposals for improvement or further developments in consultation with the Commercial Directors so that an individualized solution can be obtained for the customer;
7. In addition to your own projects, you consult with (cross-site) departments or functions regarding proposals and corrective actions in case of nonconformity, which are made in response to customer products;
8. You participate in fairs, seminars and sales meetings to keep in touch with the most recent product developments on the market, legislation, nutritional labelling, etc.;
9. You are responsible for the application center in Zwevezele and its management.
Your profile:

11. You have a master's degree in bioengineering or a bachelor's degree in applied food sciences.
12. Min. 5 years of work experience in the food industry (or related) or demonstrates an exceptional ability to quickly get up to speed and absorb large amounts of knowledge.
13. Demonstrates strong technical knowledge in the functionality of food ingredients and/or meat (processing) science/technology.
14. Knowledge of meat is a plus.
15. Advanced written and oral communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate technical information effectively to all levels of the organization.
16. You have a practical attitude with the necessary accuracy, like a challenge and like to take initiative.
17. Able to travel 10% of the time (worldwide).
