Job description
In the scope of powertrain electrification roadmap development for our client (leading OEM of off-highway vehicles), we are searching for a skilled and motivated engineer in the Power Electronics. The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will:
• Be part of the sub-team focusing on DC/DC converters, Battery chargers & Inverters
• Be expected to be autonomous and responsible in his work and take initiative
• Together with the team perform design optimization study for electric/hybrid driveline
Key tasks
• Develop scalable models (analytical models) for multiple topologies of Power Converters (isolated & non-isolated topologies, multi-level converters, battery chargers)
• Develop thermal models for power modules & magnetics for steady state thermal performance evaluation
• Simulate and analyze designs for feasibility, performance, losses & life estimation
• Evaluate design trade-offs of design & control choices
• Make design recommendations to meet customer requirements backed by strong analysis
• Working closely with motor, power electronics & energy storage engineers to optimize electric powertrain
• Analyze inter component behavior within the powertrain
• Knowledge of electric /hybrid powertrain & demonstrated work experience in low-medium voltage (350V-3kV) power converters are highly desired
• Knowledge of Inverter for synchronous and switch reluctance machines will be advantageous
Profile / Requirements :
Profile
• Masters/PhD in Electro-mechanical / Electrical engineering with concrete experience in the design & simulation of one or more of power converters
• Experience in hybridization/electrification of non-road/off-highway/ construction/ agricultural machinery is a strong asset
• Fluent in English;
• Skills in Matlab/Simulink/Simscape ; Plecs, LT-Spice would be added benefit
