The Maricopa County Community College District’s Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a One‑Year‑Only (OYO) faculty member for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position will serve as the lead block 4 faculty for complex care, delivering didactic instruction and providing clinical oversight to ensure alignment with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
Essential Functions
* Instruction: Teach a varied population of block 4 students in didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation settings.
* Curriculum & Assessment: Develop course syllabi, outlines, and related materials; evaluate student learning and competency in assigned subject areas.
* Student & College Engagement: Participate in district and campus committees, attend institutional activities, and maintain regular office hours to support and advise students.
* Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and instructional practices through conferences, courses, seminars, and workshops.
* Lab, Simulation & Clinical Coordination: Create clinically relevant curriculum aligned with semester objectives; collaborate with faculty to ensure all sessions are staffed and supported.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least three (3) years of full‑time equivalent experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care;
* OR BSN with a graduate degree and two (2) years of full‑time equivalent nurse experience;
* OR graduate degree in nursing with two (2) years of full‑time equivalent nurse experience.
* Must hold an Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or a multi‑state privilege to practice in Arizona by the first day of employment.
* Must meet health and safety requirements, including CPR certification, a Fingerprint Clearance Card, and drug testing.
Desired Qualifications
* Graduate degree in Nursing.
* Experience as a registered nurse with an adult population in a complex care environment.
* Experience teaching final‑semester (capstone/block 4) nursing students in a didactic setting.
* Experience working within a nursing lab, knowledge of curriculum alignment to clinical nursing, and student assessment.
* Strong knowledge and application of simulation‑based education, including high‑fidelity simulation and debriefing best practices.
* Experience mentoring and supporting adjunct faculty.
* One year of full‑time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.
Special Working Conditions
Working in the classroom, lab/simulation, and various health‑care settings as a clinical nursing instructor (hospitals, long‑term care facilities, and community agencies). Must meet health and safety standards required for clinical faculty.
