Datacenter People are assisting one of the biggest Telecommunications companies in Europe with their search for a Data Center Technical Manager in Belgium. This position is 60% homeworking with 2 days on site and can be based anywhere in Belgium. This position will suit someone who is currently working as a Senior Data Center Engineering position with experience of service management and facilities operations and maintenance.
As a Data Center Technical Manager you will lead the analysis, development and implementation of projects related to the implementation, modernization, maintenance of all technical environment systems (Electricity, HVAC, UPS, fire prevention systems, access control systems, etc.) of their Data Centers around Belgiu. You will also define medium and long term technical plans and the strategic direction of your domain.
Your Responsibilities:
* Analyse and assess technical solutions and evolution to fulfill business, regulatory and operational (functional and capacity) requirements.
* Lead medium to large size implementation projects, in collaboration with internal colleagues and external suppliers.
* Write functional and technical specifications and requests for proposal. Support Procurement and analyse the requests for proposals (supplier selection).
* Generate methods, procedure and technical documents regarding technical solution and evolution (architecture, impact analysis).
* Be the problem management SPOC for your Technical Domain
* Act as a technical interface with suppliers, other operators, regulatory institutions, to gather requirements and technical solutions.
* Define the medium and long term technical plan and strategy of the domain.
* Interact with other technical domain leaders to consolidate the roadmaps and adapt the technical solutions to any other technical requirements.
* The job might involve an on-call.
Your Profile:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, deployment and operations of technical environments (Electricity, HVAC, UPS, fire prevention systems, access control systems, etc.) in Data Centers or similar.
* Deep knowledge of site environmental engineering.
* Knowledge of Networks, Telecommunications, IT environment is desirable.
* Project management experience and skills.
* Ability to act proactively and to solve problems.
* Strong planning & organization skills / task management.
